The Goethe-Zentrum in Trivandrum was established in the year 2008 with the primary objectives of offering German language classes for the levels A1 to C2. The Goethe-Zentrum in Trivandrum and its branch in Kochi are managed by the Indo-German Language and Cultural Society (IGLCS), registered according to the Travancore-Cochin Charitable Societies Act. The IGLCS is governed by a seven-member board, chaired by Mr. G. Vijaya Raghavan, founder CEO of Kerala’s first IT park Technopark and former member of the State Planning Board. The other members of the board are:

Facilities
The Goethe-Zentrum in Trivandrum is ideally located in the centre of the city, near the University of Kerala. It offers most-modern infrastructure including air-conditioned classrooms with smart board and facilities including cafeteria, amphitheater, open lawns, multimedia self-study room with tablets and computers as well as a band stand. The Kochi branch is also very centrally located parallel to the MG Road and has well-equipped, air-conditioned classrooms, a small roof-top café and covered terrace for multiple purposes.
