Committing itself to the responsibilities towards a sustainable form of fighting the disastrous results of man-made climate changes, the German consulate general in Bangalore together with the Goethe-Zentrum Trivandrum, funded and commissioned a solar powered well irrigation system in the outskirts of Trivandrum to provide a regular supply of water to several hectors of farmland used for agricultural cultivation by the local farmers’ collective Sangamaithry. The German Consul General H.E. Achim Burkart inaugurated the irrigation project yesterday on 9th of November in the presence of the farmers. Funded under the so called Kleinstprojekt initiative of the German Federal government, we truly commit ourselves to a collective and sustainable form of development and protection of our environment.
